Press release from Culpeper County Public Schools:

Culpeper County Public Schools will be adopting Spanish, German and French textbooks and is seeking input from students, parents, teachers, and other community members. The textbooks will
be available for review at each middle school and high school from May 11 through May 15, 2015. Spanish I textbooks are available at both middle schools, and all other world language textbooks are available for review at both high schools. Please check in with the receptionist at the school’s main office for the specific location of the textbooks. An evaluation form will be available for comments. The completed evaluation forms will be submitted to the Textbook Selection Committee, and the feedback will be used in assisting the committee with its final recommendations to the School Board for approval.

The Virginia Department of Education determines the schedule for approval of specific content area textbooks as based on the seven-year revision cycle for the Standards of Learning. This is the review and adoption year for world language textbooks. For further information, contact Linda Bowers, Division Curriculum Specialist for World Languages, at 825-3677, or e-mail her at
