Press Release by Culpeper Police Department:

The Culpeper Police Department is currently investigating an incident where a Culpeper County Public School bus traveling on its morning route headed to Floyd T. Binns Middle school was struck with an apparent BB around 7:00am on October 29, 2014. When the bus was traveling on the 500 block of North Main Street a projectile hit a side window of the bus shattering the glass.

This area is located at the intersection of Main Street and Evans Street. The school bus did have students on the bus at the time of the incident however there were no injuries to any student or the bus driver.

Based upon the preliminary investigation, it appears the bus was struck with a BB projectile. Officers canvassed the immediate area this morning. “As always, the safety of our students and staff remains of utmost concern. We are taking this incident very seriously and will continue to work with law enforcement. We commend our staff for the way they handled this incident and the professionalism of the law enforcement officers working this case” states Stacey L. Timmons Executive Director of Human Resources for Culpeper County Public Schools.
